How do I migrate from Mailchimp to another platform without losing data?
Export contacts as CSV and — critically — export the suppression data too: unsubscribes, hard bounces, and spam complaints. Contacts are easy to move; the suppression list is the part that protects your domain. On AeroCampaign, existing suppressions are also imported directly from SendGrid and Amazon SES on connect, so provider-side history comes across even if the platform export is incomplete.
- Contacts import by CSV, up to 100,000 rows per file.
- Suppression data must be exported separately from contacts on most platforms.
- AeroCampaign imports suppressions directly from SES and SendGrid on connect.
- Campaign-level historical reporting does not transfer between platforms.
- Sender reputation follows the provider account, not the marketing platform.
Teams routinely migrate the contact list and forget the suppression list, then mail several thousand people who had already unsubscribed. The resulting complaint spike can damage a domain more than a year of good sending repairs.
Historical campaign reporting is the one thing that genuinely does not move. Keep the old account in read-only mode for a quarter if those numbers matter to you.
