AI email personalization

Also known as: Generative email personalization
Definition

AI email personalization is the generation of distinct campaign copy for different audiences from behavioural and contextual signals, ranging from one variant per segment to one variant per individual recipient.

Why it matters

It is distinct from merge-tag personalization, which substitutes a name or company into an otherwise identical message. The unit of variation is the message itself, not a placeholder within it.

Resolution is a cost decision: per-cohort generation captures most of the lift, and per-individual generation is reserved for contacts whose signal history justifies the expense.
